Turkey & Vegetable Burgers

Is there anything better than a tasty burger?

What about a lean, healthy, tasty burger?

These homemade burgers are super easy to make (a great recipe to do with the kids) and are bursting with flavour!

Ingredients:

1 bunch spring onions finely chopped 1/2 red capsicum finely chopped ~130g 1 large garlic clove finely chopped 1 carrot grated ~80g 500g lean turkey mince 2 tbsp plain flour 1 egg whisked 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp reduced sugar BBQ sauce 1 tbsp reduced sugar tomato sauce

Method:

  1. In a large bowl mix all ingredients together using clean hands. Shape into 8 patties ~100g each
  2. Put in fridge for 30 minutes to set prior to cooking
  3. Heat a large non-stick fry pan over medium to high heat.
  4. Cook the patties for 4 – 5 minutes on each side

To Serve:

1 whole grain roll 70-80g

OR

2 slices multigrain bread

1⁄4 (40g) avocado

Sliced tomato

Sliced beetroot

Lettuce, spinach or rocket
